Coffee culture in Canberra is quite complex!
Did you know that a Canberra barista was crowned Best Barista in Australia in 2015 and went on to take the world title? Canberra baristas have also won the national title in 2016, 2017, and 2019, and their passion for coffee has even been featured in two films: The Coffee Man and Coffee Heroes. In 2018 a Canberra coffee team worked with a barista from Poland, who became the first ever Women in the world to become a World Barista Champion!
Now, let's take a closer look at the micro cache you're about to find. It's located near the warehouse of a green coffee bean importer in Australia. Most of them are usually located in Melbourne or Sydney but this is the only one in Canberra. A lot of the coffee they store would be consumed accross cafes in our city
Some of these beans travel for 5-7 months to reach Australia from diverse countries of origin. As you search for the cache, take a moment to appreciate the journey these beans take to reach our cups.
