Ale Trail - heritage pubs in the West End

Loosely inspired by Ale Trail - A Taste of History (GC3RRP3), this adventure takes you on a short tour around some of the older pubs of the west end. Each pub has a rich history and a good (sometimes, excellent) range of beers. You do not, however, need to enter any of the establishments to complete this adventure lab.
The tour should take less than an hour (including time to look for answers) but if you stop for a drink in each one, who knows? It can be hard to pry yourself from one of the cosy snugs, especially when it is cold outside.
You can tackle this adventure in any order but I'd recommend proceeding roughly north to south.
