Per the Encyclopedia Britannica pi, in mathematics is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. The symbol π was devised by British mathematician William Jones in 1706 to represent the ratio and was later popularized by Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler. Because pi is irrational (not equal to the ratio of any two whole numbers), it's digits do not repeat and an approximation such as 3.14 or 22/7 is often used for everyday calcuations.
It is time we get together to discuss the wonder that pi is and how we can apply this to geocaching. By the end of the evening your brain may be fried from all the pi calcuations that we will be doing. Come prepared to solve a ton of math problems.
If you have read this far, I am sure you are wondering what in the world. You would be correct - of course we will not be doing math problems but you may still have a fried brain after eating fried pie.
We will be meeting inside the establishment and there is seating on the South side. The event will start at 6:15pm and end at 6:45pm.
