昭和40年オリンピックの翌年に建てられたコープオリンピアは日本の億ション第1号というステイタスのあるヴィンテージマンションです。
計画にあたって、
（1）表参道の並木道との調和を図って緑が映える外観とすること
（2）レストランや美容院など商業施設を併設し、建物自体に都市としての機能を盛り込むこと
（3）海外滞在経験などもある富裕層を満足させられる設備・仕様とすること
などを意図して設計されています。
設備も当時としては画期的で、セントラル方式による全館24時間冷暖房、エレベーター4基、居住者専用の駐車場、さらに屋上には周囲を一望できるプールが設けられています。新築分譲時には、最高価格である1億円の住戸のひとつを当時人気だった女優・京マチ子が購入したことでも話題となったそうです。

Built the year after the 1965 Olympics, Coop Olympia is a vintage condominium with the status of Japan's first billion-dollar condominium.
In planning this project, the following points were made clear.
(1) To harmonize with the tree-lined avenue, the exterior of the building was designed to look green.
(2) To incorporate commercial facilities such as restaurants and beauty salons, and to incorporate urban functions into the building itself.
(3) Facilities and specifications to satisfy the needs of the wealthy who have stayed abroad.
(3) To provide facilities and specifications that would satisfy the needs of wealthy people with experience of living abroad.
The facilities were also revolutionary for the time, with 24-hour central air conditioning and heating throughout the building, four elevators, a parking lot for the exclusive use of residents, and a pool on the rooftop from which residents can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding area. When the building was newly built and sold, one of the highest-priced units, priced at 100 million yen, was purchased by Machiko Kyo, a popular actress at the time, which also became a topic of conversation.
