A cache in the church micro series . PLEASE NOTE THIS CACHE REQUIRES INFORMATION FROM WITHIN THE CHURCH WHICH CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED DURING THE DAY.
It is unclear when the church in Chenies was founded but there is a list of rectors from 1232. Chenies was an estate village until the 1950's , initially owned by the Cheyne family and then by the Russell ( Dukes of Bedford) family . They retained the right to appoint the rector. In 1556 the Russell family built the Bedford Chapel on the north side of the chancel and members of the family have been buried there up until the present day despite the fact that Woburn became their principal residence in the 1640's. Unfortunately the chapel is rarely open to the public but the church is almost daily.

find a memorial to Edmund Morris Esq . He passed away December a0th 18ae aged b2 years and find the Reverend William Morris Rector of this parish for upwards of 2d years born July 25th AD 1c58 and died July 24th AD 182f
