'TRACKDOWN' GEOCACHE Mystery Cache
jrav: It was only a matter of time before this area was logged again and while it is sad to see the end of this cache, it did have a good run of about 2 decades.

Once again ignore the above UTM/Lat/Long. It only advises you that this contest is on Vancouver Island. Here's the drill! You are going to have to measure three distances in meters, and three compass bearings in degrees (six items altogether).
A) Measure the distance from the center of a bench on Ten Mile Point in Victoria, B.C. On this bench is a plaque that reads "George Gunniss, Mayor of Ten Mile Point" to the center of the War Memorial on Beach Drive. Determine the compass bearing to the nearest deg. from the bench to the War Memorial.
B) Measure the distance and compass bearing to the nearest degree from the War Memorial to a GPS tag #458 located at the top of a giant rock SW of Sooke Harbour House (by Whiffenspit) in Sooke, B.C. The giant rock, weighing many tons is at the top of the beach.
C) Measure the distance from the grave of "Isaac A. Fried' in the Jewish Cemetary, in Victoria, B.C. to the bench described above on Ten Mile Point. Also determine the compass bearing between these two points.
LET'S LIST THESE SIX STEPS:
1) Bench to War Memorial
2) Degrees bench to War Memorial
3) War Memorial to GPS 458
4) Degrees War Memorial to GPS 458
5) Jewish Cemetary to bench
6) Degrees Jewish Cemetary to bench.
You've taken measurements in meters and degrees. Pretend your answers for the degrees are meters. So to get to a UTM close to the cache site, add number 1 and number 5 (above) to 423799 meters, and this will give you your Easting. From 5421570 subtract number 2 and number 3 (above) - add number 4 and number 6. This will give you your Northing. Presuming you have all this figured out from the UTM you have determined, go 5 meters ENE. There you will see a tree with pink paint on it. The cache is two meters East of the pink painted tree, hidden in leaves and branches. The UTM that you have determined should be on an old road (of sorts). Cachers - thank you for the dozens of e mails we receive. Watch out for the "REST AND BE THANKFUL" cache. The information for this cache will be released in installments! This will be a VERY exciting cache. Best of luck to all cachers from Team KFWB Gps!!!
