I'm slowly developing new "worldviews" within Geocaching itself. We all know your accomplishments and such are mostly based on how you view the game, and how you wish to play the game. In that sense, I am starting to shift my view, especially as a hider, towards not just hiding caches to hide caches.
I'm not saying there can't be caches just for caches, but for more experienced geocachers, or geocachers with the ability to hide better caches, I feel as if we should always take the opportunity to turn a hide into something unique; more than just another number or smile on your map. This is because no matter how much everybody agrees on this, there will still indefinitely be a large amount of normal, basic caches. So I could chuck out some caches for the heck of it, but so does a decent amount of people! There's no point in me doing that if I know I can hide something to remember, something more than just an everyday LPC, something unique, possibly worthy of favorite points.
I'm actually starting to rack up a LOT of favorite points because of this. I already had maybe eight or so before the Valentine's day ten were sent out, and now I'm up to around 20+. That's insane, especially since I'm not a huge number grinder. I'm not always out-finding caches just for caches, but I've still managed to rack up so many favorite points. Why? Because nineteen out of twenty finds that I get end up being something boring! That's not to be annoyed at that, normal and basic caches are fine, but in my position, I no longer feel the need to hide any of that sort.
In this way, this cache could totally have been a very basic traditional cache, forgettable like many other caches of mine. Instead, I'm going to turn this into a decent puzzle (which yeah, isn't the MOST memorable thing but I prefer it to the first option), rather than just a meanz to an end.
I lost the entire puzzle and had to remake it, so it's SLIGHTLY more sloppy than the first time, but still extremely similar.
