The City of Galena has allowed caches to be placed along the River Trail. We can give back to the City by helping keep it clean.
You can earn the CITO Souvenir.
There will be time during the CITO for stops at any caches you may not have already found.
In addition to cleaning up trash this will be the day that the Generals and my other caches along this stretch of trail will be taken down. The Generals are bird houses. I do not want them back. Those particiopating in the CITO will have the opportunity to take home the cache containers.
We will meet at 11:00 am at the listed coordinates which is the trailhead. Cross the railroad tracks at the Depot and drive to the end of the parking lot under the bridge where there is plenty of parking available. This will give time for caching before and after the event. We will probably finish before 1 P.M. I will then head to lunch. Hopefully you can join me. Should that be another event?
The trail is 3.5 miles long. I may bring my bicycle. I can't walk that far, you are welcome to bring your bicycle. Whichever mode of travel works for you is fine. If you can only do part of the trail, that is fine too.
No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
Bring a pair of gloves and your favorite trash pick up TOTT.
