SEMAG Meet & Greet #98 - Ames Nowell Poker Run

Additional Info: This will be the fifth edition of this event, but this time will be held at Ames Nowell State Park in Abington. Due to new Groundspeak rules, we will be reworking the event.

We will meet under the pavilion at the posted coordinates in Ames Nowell State Park. You can't park directly at the pavilion, but can access it via a short walk (~.1 mi) from a nearby parking area. The park has free entry and does not require a parking permit.

Five caches and a bonus final will be hidden and published in Ames Nowell State State Park prior to this event. If you would like to participate in the optional Poker Run (taking place at the event's conclusion), your goal will be to locate each cache and take a sealed envelope from inside each one. Each envelope will contain one playing card, and you will need to visit all five caches and retrieve an envelope from each. Please don't cheat and look in the envelope or you may get disqualified! You are under no obligation to find the Poker Run caches to attend the event.

At this SEMAG Meet & Greet event, if you choose to participate in the Poker Run game, please visit the sign in table and reveal your "poker hand" at the conclusion of your "poker run." We will write down everyone's poker hand, and at 12:15, the winners will be announced. Whoever has the "best" poker hand will have first choice of the prize table, and so on down the list. If there are any leftover prizes, the list will repeat starting with the best hand and going down again.

Donations of prizes will be greatly appreciated. We will be providing some snack food and drinks, and donations for those as well are welcome.

Event Schedule

10:00 - Event officially begins

10:30 - Event officially ends (PLEASE NOTE - You must be present at some point between 10 and 10:30 to get credit for the event)

Optional Poker Run Schedule (after official event time)

10:35 - Poker run caches will be published

12:00 - Poker hands must be turned in

12:15 - Best hands will be announced and prizes will be picked

THE RUN:
- All caches are located near the trails but a little bushwhacking will be required.
- You will probably encounter ticks, briars and low brush so please plan accordingly.
