The Mihai Viteazul Bridge or Morii Bridge was built in 1909, and at the ends of the bridge there were four towers decorated with stone reliefs depicting a woman holding the seal of the free and royal city of Timisoara, a sandbank used to load a boat sand, which is needed for the construction of buildings, a miller with a flour sack on his back, and a tanner, who works a leather, all this was carried out in the workshop of the sculptor Nándor Gallas from Timisoara. The Metropolitan Andrei Shaguna Bridge or Youth Bridge was built of wood in 1718 and reinforced with iron in 1898 and replaced by the current reinforced concrete bridge in 1913. The original project called for the bridge to have four statues on balustrades depicting Romanian Catholic bishops, but after the outbreak of war, sculptor Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl left the money without fulfilling the commission. This bridge offers a magnificent view of the park of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
