Geocache Description:

A sutra mound is a place where the letters of the Lotus Sutra are carved into stone and placed in a sutra cylinder in order to pray for the prosperity of the family.
There is a legend that during the Heian period, Taira no Kiyomori also buried sutra cylinders wishing for the prosperity of the Heike family. When the ground was dug up for cultivation at the end of World War II, sutra cylinders and burial goods were actually unearthed.
You will have to climb steep stairs to get here. take care!
