Opis lokacije
Ob reki Vipavi so bili včasih postavljeni številni mlini. Mlinov mogoče danes ni več, pripadajoči jezovi pa še vedno urejajo tok Vipave in tvorijo tolmune, primerne za plavanje. V okolici Mirna je več jezov. Eden od njih je postavljen v bližini zaselka Vrtoče, na kraju znanim pod imenom "Pri Šelu". Do jezu pridemo po poljski poti iz vasi Orehovlje. Kolovoz, ki se odcepi od poljske poti nas pripelje naravnost do jezu in piknik placa, ki nudita prostor za osvežitev, zabavo in sprostitev med vročimi poletnimi dnevi. Jez lahko ob nizkem vodostaju (na lastno odgovornost) prečkamo tudi bosi. Ob desnem bregu reke nas potka popelje skozi rastje do manjše čistine, kjer nas čaka zakladek.
Location description
Along the River Vipava, numerous mills were once built. While the mills may no longer be present today, the corresponding weirs still regulate the flow of the Vipava and form pools suitable for swimming. In the vicinity of Miren, there are several weirs, one of which is located near the hamlet of Vrtoče, on the spot known as "Pri Šelu." To reach the weir, one can take a field path from the village of Orehovlje. The track that branches off the field path leads us directly to the weir and a picnic area, which provide space for refreshment, fun, and relaxation during the hot summer days. The weir can also be crossed barefoot at low water levels (at your own risk). On the right bank of the river, the path takes us through the vegetation to a small clearing, where the treasure awaits us.
