Geocache Description:

Welcome back to our Essential Eighties music series!  Today we visit the classic 1980 film "The Blues Brothers", one of Jeremy's favourites.  So, you ask, who starred in this? John Belushi and Dan Ayrkroyd starred as the eponymous brothers Jake and Elwood.  The brothers are "on a mission from God" to save the orphanage they were raised in, but it's not an easy quest as they must elude and evade various parties trying to seek revenge on the brothers for one reason or another.  It features an amazing array of musicians and one of the longest car chases in film history (11 minutes and 15 seconds).  As with many films from the 80s, there's a few scenes that haven't aged very well, but overall it's a fun movie with lots of great music.

Musicians in this film:

James Brown

Cab Calloway

Ray Charles

Aretha Franklin and her backing singers

Murph and the Magic Tones as the Blues Brothers' backing band

John Lee Hooker

Joe Walsh

Chaka Khan

Non-musicians include

Carrie Fisher

John Goodman

Paul Reubens

Frank Oz

John Landis

John Candy

Stephen Spielberg.....

This is in a high-muggle area so do be stealthy.  Why did we choose this location?  In the summertime it's the perfect place to relax, watch the waves, and listen to some music from the bandstand.   On a clear day you can see Toronto.  Ample parking available nearby unless there's a band playing in the bandshell.

byop and return cache exactly where you found it.

A very belated congrats to Olivandy for ftf! 😺
