Geocache Description:

REMEMBER: Save off line the caches along  the rail trail as phone coverage is very weak or non-existant in some section. Also do this for the AL: Along the Rail Trail (it has a virtual fence of 40km - so you can see the questions/answers you will need to locate).

Welcome to the Northern Rivers Rail Trail that starts in Murwillumbah and in time will finish at Casino. Presently you can go as far as Crabbes Creek - 24km south. The trail passes through 4 villages and 2 sidings as well as through 2 tunnels - Burringbar tunnel is over 500m long, and you will need a TORCH or bike light, and has glow worms and micro bats.  The other tunnel is Hulls Road tunnel that is about 50m in length. We encourage you to take time to stop and read the signs about the history, culture and nature you are passing through and very importantly take in the vistas of the valley as well as the changing countryside's use and flora and fauna. ENJOY!

Cane farming remains one of the major agricultural activities of the Tweed Valley and at this spot it will be one of your last views of the cane fields until you are between Mooball and Crabbes Creek.
