Founded in 2001, the Hastings Outback Nature & Recreation Trail provides a good place for exercise and outdoors. It follows the old railroad line from Station Street in Hastings to Pine Street in Elder Township. The trail is a public recreation facility provided by the combinded efforts of the Hastings Park and Recreation Commission, Hastings Borough, Elder Township, Hastings VFW and John Hannah Hindmarsh Foundation.
Like most trails, this one could benefit from a springtime clean up. Trash bags and gloves to be provided by host. Specific trash instruction will be given at the site.
