Geocache Description:

06 May 2023, 09:00 - 11:00

Back by popular demand!! Okay, only one person asked. But that's all it takes for me to host another of these.

Whether you're new to Cachy or have used Cachly for a while but want to explore some of the advanced features (there's a lot of them). You're also coming to the right place! Or, maybe you're an Android user who just wants to heckle me. Cachly is an official API partner of Geocaching.com. However, the app is only available to iPhone and iPad users. And no, there are still no plans to release this for Android. That works too! Feel free to come and just hang out, log the event and chat amongst yourselves. Just let us Apple fanboys/fangirls have our fun too. :)

At the time of submitting this, there are no new major features about to be released. As mentioned, I am doing this by request.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 6 from 9:00a - 11:00a at the Smoky Hill Library. I have reserved the "Meeting Room A" space for this time. I will be able to project my screen. While it won't be a structured event, there is a LOT we can talk about in these 2 hours, so the earlier you're there, the more I can help! This is a relatively small space. Kids are welcome if they won't be disruptive, but it might be kinda boring. :)

My goal with this event is to answer YOUR questions! Why me? I'm a Cachly Beta Tester and have been using Cachly for many years now. Feel free to submit your questions in your Will Attend log so I know what you want me to focus on. Below are some of the things we can talk about, but ultimately it will be attendee driven. If you see something you didn't know Cachly could do on the list, come to learn more!

  • Navigation (driving and various map apps)
  • Main map and cache symbols
  • Street View
  • Friends list (not exactly the same as your www.geocaching.com friends) - some really cool features around this

  • Long press tilemap options
    • Show cache radius
    • Ignore corrected coordinates (for geo-art)
    • Offline Map Layer Settings
