Geocache Description:

The former Chinese YMCA  building at  123 Xizang Rd S., once known as "the greatest and the most magnificent building in Far East",  designed by Chinese Achitects incorporating Chinese characteristics.  Look up for the most obvious chinese features.  A lot of info on both the architects and the building can be found via this link  -

https://avezink.livejournal.com/135792.html  and

There is also a small museum in the hotel, opposite the reception desk in the far right corner.

However, to find the GC, we need to learn a bit about transits. A transit is commonly used in nagivation as it is a highly accurate way of knowing when you are on a certain line.  If you can line up two objects, you know that you are on a line drawn on the map extending from those two points. If you can line up two transits, then you know precisely where you are, as you will be where the two transits cross.  If you have three transits, then one can be redundant, but it is always nice as a confirmation of position.  For this GC, you really only need to use two transits, the third is a bonus!

Transit pictures ( 1,2,3) are in the cache gallery. Each picture contains an obvious transit.  Try to line up the edge of something ( usually a building) in the background with something in the foreground ( usually a lamp post) .  All the transits are designed to be quite sharp..  there shouldn't be any doubt as to whether or not you are on the right line.  The best way to use transits is to get one lined up and then keep on that transit, whilst looking out for the other transit.

The coordinates of the GC are not the real coordinates, you will need to use the transits to find the cache.

Good Luck! The Cache is a a 5ml container just above ground level.
