AKITA'S MARKET
This market has a long history, having started as an open-air market after World War II. Located a 3-minute walk from Akita Station, the market is "Akita Citizens' Kitchen" and offers a variety of Akita's specialties such as sea turtles and other seafood from the Sea of Japan, wild vegetables, and fruits. It's also a popular choice of souvenirs for tourists. In snowy Akita, the cache was hidden on the second floor of a multi-story parking garage, where it could be searched in winter.
秋田市民の台所
戦後の青空市場からはじまった歴史深い市場。秋田駅から徒歩3分という立地に、スジコなどの日本海の海の幸に、山菜・果物など秋田名物の食材が揃う「秋田市民の台所」です。観光客のお土産選びも人気がありますよ。場内のポスターに書かれている「なんもだー！」は、ありがとうと言われた時に返す言葉で大丈夫という意味も含んだ「気にしないで～」という方言です。なんだか優しくていいですね。
