This cache marks the memorial of Belgian pilot Jean Verdun Marie Aime De Cloedt, who crashed on Lewesdon Hill  on the 15 March 1942.

Further details of the incident and the story surrounding the discovery of the aircraft propellor blades can be found on the memorial.
