Geocache Description:

EST:

Omaniku luba on olemas.

ENG:

The Andropoff Cinema and Games House was completed in 1979 and the building was designed by architect Meeli Truu. It has a room for billiards and board games, a dance and cinema hall and a patio on the seaside. Lekaal or round brick was used for the first time in Estonia in the construction of a cinema and game house. The interior design was done by Taevo Gans. The walls of this building are made of red pure jointed bricks, which were covered with standing boards on the outside in the second half of the 1980s. Lekaal bricks specially made in the Tallinn ceramics factory were used to make the rounded corners. The central part of the building is the vestibule, which is led up and down by a grand staircase. Next to it, there are rooms for playing board games and watching TV at different heights throughout the three floors. The heart of the building is a 24-seat cinema, billiards and dance hall.

The cinema and play house does not have a representative main entrance and main facade. The windows are hidden between the projecting volumes or even on the roof, so the inside of the building is very bright.
