On 22 Apr 2023, the city is hosting the "Annual Community Cleanup Day" as a culmination of the City Wide Cleanup.
As GeoCachers, we have a heightened awareness of litter. Sadly we find it nearly everywhere we tread. As GeoCachers, we should practice the ideals of "Tread Lightly" and "Leave No Trace". I believe most of us do this nearly every time we cache. GroundSpeak has provided us with a dedicated event type in the CITO, to both encourage, and reward us for such behaviors. Hopefully, other people that witness these ideals in action, take notice, and incorporate them into their own life.
It is with great pleasure that the area GeoCachers have acquired a 1 mile section of the RAPID Bike Path to clean up in support of the Community Cleanup Day. While this particular section of trail is normally clear of most trash, it does offer some areas for people of any ability to access. Terrain from 1 to as high as 3.5ish can be had along the route. And, for those that wish to go beyond, creek wading can provide extra opportunities.
So, we look forward to any and all GeoCachers that would like to participate as well as any friends and family you would like to involve.
