This cache is in Muddy Run Park along the yellow-blazed Lakeshore Trail. It is available in daylight only. Terrain is rugged especially if you go all the way around the lake. The signs say that takes two hours. It took us three hours, but we did cache maintenance, placed this cache, and took pictures of a sunning black rat snake and a bunny beneath a bush. Hiking to this one and then back to parking would take much less time. But it's still a hike.
This cache is near the location of GCBE9 - Muddy Run Cache. Unfortunately, that very old cache placed 06/10/2001 was archived in August 2022 when it either disppeared or got misplaced and buried in leaves. But the owner didn't check on it and didn't adopt it out to someone. Adoption is very easy. I would have adopted it. I found that cache my first weekend geocaching with my kids while on a Cub Scout Pack 88 camping trip. That was June 2005. I also found it while hiking with Pack 88 in May 2017 with kids who hadn't been born when I had first found it. Good memories.
This small camo'ed screw-top container is hidden in a hollow at the base of a tree near the ridge above the trail. That tree seems to have another tree sprouting from its base. You will probably need to climb over a fallen tree (two thin trunks) and over some decent-size rocks in front of the tree. The old cache was maybe 50 feet to the west.
