Shiraito Falls
The Place:
Shiraito Waterfall is a waterfall in the Fuij City and Fuji National Park area. It has been protected as a natural monument since 1936. Together with the Otodome waterfall, which is only a few minutes' walk away, it is even on the list of the 100 most beautiful waterfalls in Japan drawn up by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment in 1990.
Where does the Name come from:
The name of the waterfall derives from its appearance, so (shira) means "white" and (ito) "thread" or "threads". There are still numerous waterfalls in Japan with the same name and similar appearance but not with such a great view «WP2» on Mount Fuij.
Facts:
Shiraito Falls is about 20 meters high and about 150 meters long, and the water, which springs from different parts of the horseshoe-shaped cliff wall, flows down like many white threads. It is a waterfall made of spring water, which is rare in Japan, and has beautiful scenery. It lies on a tributary of the Shiba, which is a tributary of Mount Fuji. This finally flows into Suruga Bay in the south.
The Geology of the Waterfall:
The geology of the surrounding area has a layer that allows water to pass easily (Shiraito Lava Flow) in the upper part and a layer that does not allow water to pass easily (Furufuji Mud Flow) in the lower part. It is believed that the melted snow that falls at the foot of Mount Fuji arrives here via the tributary.

The inflow of the waterfall:
The Shiba River starts its course in the Fumoto area, from where it meanders to Shiraito Fall. On the way you can watch the inflow from the many bridges. Shortly before the waterfall, it splits up and most of it flows over the Otodomeno waterfall. The smaller masses of water then flow over the beautiful Shiraito Fall. Finally, both lines come together after the falls and flow as one into the great Fuji where they then end in Suruga Bay in the Philippine Sea.

白糸の滝は、富士市と富士国立公園エリアにある滝です。 1936年から天然記念物として保護されています。 徒歩数分のところにある乙止の滝と合わせて、環境省が1990年に発表した日本の滝100選にも選ばれています。
名前の由来
滝の名前はその姿に由来するので、（しら）は「白い」、（いと）は「糸」または「糸」を意味します。 同じ名前で似たような外観の滝は日本にまだたくさんありますが、富士山の素晴らしい景色 «WP2» はありません。

芝川は麓から始まり、蛇行して白糸の滝へと流れます。 途中、多くの橋からの流入を見ることができます。 滝の手前で分かれ、大部分が音止の滝の上を流れます。 その後、小さな水塊が美しい白糸の滝を流れます。 最後に、滝の後に両方のラインが合流し、大富士に流れ込み、フィリピン海の駿河湾で終わります。
