I was born in ??AB
My dream as a boy was to be a shephered or a poet, but life drew me elsewhere. When i was 8 i came to Israel with my family.
In my youth i studied in agricultural school, then i joined a kibbutz. I worked also as a shephered.
In 1945 i changed my name after a desert trip.
A future prime minister recruited me to the Hagana. I dealt with menpower and aquisitions.
I was elected to the first Knesset, but started serving years afterwards. Overall i served over 40 years! At a point i was the oldest Knesset member.
I was a minister in more than 7 different offices. I was also the head of a political party.
After the six days war in 1967, i was pro settlements in some of the occupied areas. Actually as i later had a more major role in governments, i was considered by some to be one of the fathers of settlements. But i changed my views eventually.
Among my major milestones were establishing important defense institutions, sending troops to a famous operation far away, helping Israel out of an economical crisis and prolonged war, and joining numerous unified governments over 30 years.
After years of being hated by part of the public, in my latter days i enjoyed a renewed wide popularity.
I died in ??CD, and was buried in Mount Herzl.
