Geocache Description:


和歌山城追廻門は城外に馬場があり、そこで馬を追廻していたことが名前の由来とされています。
鏡柱と内側の控柱から構成されており、鏡柱上に冠木を渡して切妻屋根を被せています。
また、切妻の両側に破風はなく、直接石垣に接しています。
和歌山城では、現存する江戸時代の建造物の一つであり、和歌山城の景観を現在に残す貴重な文化財と言えます。
