White Oak Fuel Company built the Oakwood mine complex in 1902. It was a multi-story steel structure. Later being taken over by the New River Company. Its highest output was in 1940, with 515,936 tons of coal. These Coordinates take you to the company store. The picture is of the buildings that were located about 2500 feet past the company store at the end of the trail.
Cache is available from rails to trails in Oak Hill the walk to the cache is mostly down hill until you return then uphill . For those that do not want to hike parking is noted for near cache . Happy Caching !!
