I love having a chat with old timers that are familiar with their area, its history and hidden spots. On a trip from Kyabram to Rochester, I struck up a conversation with John about geocaching, and he told me of this hidden gem.
For those of us that live downstream of this point of the Campaspe River, it's flows are low and at times a bit like a cesspool, but just look at how beautiful it is here.
The Elmore weir is a little further downstream. I assume the fishing would be good here, and not as humanly populated as Ayson's Reserve.
