Swamp Rats™ clean up the Hillsborough Cache In Trash Out® Event

Trying to squeeze this in between other events and before the rains?

It has been very dry in the Lower Hillsborough Flood Detention Area. When there has been no substantial rain for a long while, the river level drops and without rain runoff the river begins to clear as that it is fed by Crystal Spring. Low and relatively clear water makes for easy cleanup. Bring a watercraft (canoe or kayak is best), a stick for stabbing cans (a metal hiking pole?) and a suitable container for trash storage (bucket or milk crate?). Will meet at Sargeant Park at 9 am where we can decide if we will shuttle vehicles to Morris Bridge or whether a round trip paddle works better. Event is scheduled for 3 hours but feel free to stay as long (or as short) as you like. With current water levels it is possible that we may be dragging boats a short distance in a few places along the run. A side benefit will be watching all those gators that you normally paddle over and never see.
