Lyons, NY is the county seat and host to the celebrations for the April 11, 2023 fespiloted by Hendrick Wempletivaties.
Today, you'll find a simple hide, but it brings you to 1 of 7 parks in Lyons, NY. This park, Lyons Southside Canal Park is well known to Lyons residents. This is the spot were are First Settlers arrived in May 1789. Nicholas and William Stansell, along with John Featherly, their wives and children landing here and made it thier home. They traveled by by from the Mohawk Valley. The adventure was piloted by Hendrick Wemple, a pioneer indian trader. When they arrived, they debarked and tied their bateauk to an elm treewhick stoodon the North Bank of the Clyde River about 7 rods East of this bridge.
