Geocache Description:

This Geocache is at the parking/entrance to the Newark State school cemetery located  on top of the hill. The road to the right will take you up to the actual cemetery where there are many nameless graves.  The graves are marked by numbered circular placques and a few headstones.  The cemetery is for those who died while at the State School and family usually had abandoned them. The road can be really wet at times so I recommend parking here and walking up the hill about a 2/10th of a mile walk.

Newark State school played an important roll in Wayne County as it employed many from the area. A lot of the orginal buildings still stand but are empty now. You can drive through the area, but the buildings have No Tresspassing signs now.
