Questa cache è dedicata all'ex oratorio di San Lazzaro, un tempo chiesetta di campagna, oggi purtroppo ridotta a rovina. Non ho trovato molte informazioni a riguardo; ad occhio credo che il corpo principale della chiesa sia del XVI secolo, con dei rifacimenti nei due secoli successivi (tra cui sicuramente facciata e campanile). Dato il nome è possibile che la canonica dietro la chiesa fungesse anche da lazzaretto per gli appestati. La chiesa è stata in funzione fino agli anni 50 quando, di fronte ad un forte aumento demografico, venne costruita a mezzo km di distanza la ben più capiente chiesa attuale di San Lazzaro. La chiesetta antica fu sconsacrata e affittata ad una ditta di lucidatura metalli (la cui insegna rimane tuttora sulla facciata) e poi abbandonata. Dall'ex oratorio parte una stradina che porta a un piccolo cimitero, ultima testimonianza ancora viva di una realtà campestre ormai inglobata nella periferia di Padova.

This cache is dedicated to the former oratory of San Lazzaro, once a small country church, unfortunately now in ruins. I haven't found much information about it; by eye I believe that the main body of the church is from the 16th century, with renovations in the following two centuries (certainly including the facade and bell tower). Given the name it is possible that the rectory behind the church also served as a hospital for plague victims. The church was in operation until the 1950s when, faced with a strong population increase, the much larger current church of San Lazzaro was built half a km away. The ancient church was deconsecrated and rented to a metal polishing company (whose sign still remains on the facade) and then abandoned. A small road starts from the former oratory and leads to a small cemetery, the last still living testimony of a rural reality now incorporated in the outskirts of Padua.
