Bats are important animals in many ecosystems, serving as pollinators, seeds spreaders, and control insect populations. Unfortunately, their populations are declining in many areas due to habitat loss and other factors. Come help build Bat houses to help the bat population.
The Garrison National Fish Hatchery has 25 bat boxes for us to put together. Assembly will happen in their shop. Some tools will be available. If you have hammers & drills of your own, you are welcome to bring them. It will make the work go quicker. Also, if you have work gloves and safety glasses that you like to use, remember to bring those.
