Al recorrer la avenida Renato Leduc probablemente hayas notado que en los carriles centrales hay rieles sobre los cuales transitan los coches como si nada. Estos son los remanentes del tranvía que solía circular sobre esta calle por allá de los años 80. Durante su servicio el tranvía transportó a muchas personas, hasta que varios años después este medio de transporte fue sustituido por el tren ligero, el cual adquirió este tramo como un pequeño ramal que iba desde Huipulco hasta la esquina con Av. San Fernando. Desgraciadamente tras pocos meses de operación este fue abandonado con tal de redirigir recursos para formar la ruta actual del tren ligero, dejando atrás las vías y las plataformas.
Unos años más tarde la alcaldía de Tlalpan limpió una de dichas plataformas que solían servir como estaciones, y en diciembre del 2007 el artista Rafael Payro Dueñas inauguró la exibición permanente que encontrarás en las coordenadas publicadas. Esta consta de 14 esculturas realizadas con materiales en desuso que muestran diferentes personajes cotidianos de la CDMX. ¿Lograrás descubrir cuál de ellos guarda el cache?
Everyday Characters of Mexico City
As you walk along Renato Leduc Avenue you'll probably notice that in the central lanes there are train tracks. These are the remnants of the streetcar that used to run along this street back in the 80's. During its service the tramway transported the local residents, until years later it was replaced by the "Tren Ligero", which aquired this section and made it into a small branch that ran from Huipulco to the corner with San Fernando Avenue. Unfortunately, after a few months of operation it was abandoned in order to redirect resources to finish the current "Tren Ligero" route, leaving behind the tracks and platforms.
A few years later, Tlalpan's government cleaned one of the platforms that served as a station, and in December 2007 the artist Rafael Payro Dueñas inaugurated the permanent exhibition that you'll find at the published coordinates. It consists of 14 sculptures made with disused materials that show different everyday characters from Mexico City. Will you be able to discover which of them holds the cache?
