Ejot Mežtaku no Trapenes uz Api, ceļš vijas pa mozaīkveida ainavu, kur laukus nomaina meža puduri un masīvi. Vasarās šeit var manīt mazo ērgli, kurš savai mājvietai izvēlas vietas, kur lauki mijas ar mežiem. Savu ligzdu putns labprāt būvē kokos jauktu un lapu koku mežmalās, bet medībām izvēlas pļavas un atmatas, retāk mežu un laukus. Vietām Mežtakas gājējs sadzirdēs līdzās tekošo upīšu čalas – Bebrupīti, Melnupi un Blīgznu. Divas no tām Mežtakas ceļotājam nāksies arī šķērsot – ceļš pāri Melnupei būs jāiet Ādamā,savukārt mazliet vēl uz priekšu Apes virzienā ceļš vedīs pāri Blīgznai. Šī nelielā upīte, kuras sākums meklējams Alūksnes novada Alsviķu pagastā, tek 26 km garumā un tās kritums ir 86m. Vietējie šo upi mēdz dēvēt arī par Bliksni, Blīgzni vai Blizdeni

un zīmulis, un asināmais. Lūgums slēpni rūpīgi aizvērt un nolikt atpakaļ precīzā atrašanas vietā.
Slēpnis ir daļa no slēpņu sērijas „MEŽTAKA”. Mežtaka ir Eiropas garās distances pārgājienu maršruta E11 daļa Baltijas valstīs, kas ved cauri Latvijas, Lietuvas un Igaunijas skaistākajiem mežiem un nacionālajiem parkiem. Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmā no Vecrīgas līdz Igaunijas robežai, kurš izstrādāts ar Eiropas Reģionālās attīstības fonda Centrālā Baltijas jūras reģiona pārrobežu sadarbības programmas 2014.–2020. gadam finansiālu atbalstu, izvietoti 45 slēpņi. Iesakām apvienot slēpņu meklēšanu ar pastaigu pa kādu no 15 ainaviskajiem Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmiem.

Description of the place:
Following the Forest Trail from Trapene to Ape, the road winds through a mosaic landscape, where fields are replaced by forest clusters and massifs. In summer, the lesser spotted eagle can be spotted here, making its home in areas where fields alternate with forests. The bird
prefers to build its nest in trees in mixed and deciduous forest edges, but for hunting it prefers meadows and fallow lands, less often forests and fields. In some places, the Forest Trail hiker will hear the babbling of the Rivers Bebrupīte, Melnupe and Blīgzna. The hiker will have to cross two of them — the road across the River Melnupe will have to be crossed in Ādams, while a little further ahead towards Ape the road will lead across the River Blīgzna. This small river, which originates in the Alsviķi parish of Alūksne municipality, runs for 26 km and has a drop of 86 m. Locals also call this river the Bliksne, Blīgzne or Blizdene

The geocache is part of the “MEŽTAKA” series of geocaches. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which runs through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In the northern part of the Forest Trail created with the financial support of the Transborder Cooperation Programme for 2014–2020 of the European Regional Development Fund for the Central Baltic Sea Region 45 geocaches have been deployed between the Old Riga and the Estonian border. We recommend combining the geocache search with a walk through one of the 15 landscape sections of the northern part of the Forest Trail.
