Netālu no Trapenes, kur Mežtaka ved Apes virzienā, pie “Mikužu” māju iebraucamā ceļamazās Pēterupītes krastā atrodas Mikužu saiešanas nams. Tā ir 1803. gadā latviešu zemnieku celta ēka brāļu draudžu vajadzībām. 1881. g. uz vecā saiešanu nama pamatiem tika uzbūvēts neliels guļbūves namiņš, kurš līdz pat mūsdienām tiek izmantots kā luterāņu draudzes lūgšanu nams, un šobrīd to dievkalpojumiem izmanto Gaujienas evaņģēliski luteriskā draudze. Saiešanu namam ir piebūve sacītāju kambariem un divām ieejām ar priekštelpām. Pati saiešanu telpa ir liela vientelpa ar nelielu paaugstinājumu vienā galā altāra vietai. Lai rūpētos par vēsturisko ēku atjaunošanu un svētku radīšanu šajā vietā, dibināta biedrība “Mikūži”, kura panāca, ka 2018. gadā namam atjaunots jumts. Norādītajās koordinātēs slēpnis neatrodas. Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmā no Vecrīgas līdz Igaunijas robežai, kurš izstrādāts ar Eiropas Reģionālās attīstības fonda Centrālā Baltijas jūras reģiona pārrobežu sadarbības programmas 2014.–2020. gadam finansiālu atbalstu, izvietoti 45 slēpņi. Iesakām apvienot slēpņu meklēšanu ar pastaigu pa kādu no 15 ainaviskajiem Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmiem.

Description of the place:
Not far from Trapene, where the Forest Trail leads in the direction of Ape, at the entrance road of the “Mikužu” houses on the bank of the small River Pēterupīte, there is the Mikužu Meeting House. It is a building built in 1803 by Latvian farmers for the needs of the Moravian Church. In 1881, a small log house was built on the foundations of the old meeting house, which is still used as a Lutheran Church house of prayer and is currently used by the Gaujiena Evangelical Lutheran Church for worship. The Meeting House has an annex for the meeting rooms and two entrances with anterooms. The meeting room itself is a large single room with a small platform at one end for the altar. In order to take care of the restoration of the historic buildings and to create festivity in the area, the association “Mikūži” was founded, and in 2018 the roof of the house was restored.

The geocache is part of the “MEŽTAKA” series of geocaches. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which runs through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In the northern part of the Forest Trail created with the financial support of the Transborder Cooperation Programme for 2014–2020 of the European Regional Development Fund for the Central Baltic Sea Region 45 geocaches have been deployed between the Old Riga and the Estonian border. We recommend combining the geocache search with a walk through one of the 15 landscape sections of the northern part of the Forest Trail.
