I came across this location - and the unusual route to get to it - while looking for a nearby cache.
It goes without saying that this spot is not directly accessible from the A1 or the motorway services - but it doesn't require any scrambling from Oundle Road either.
Instead, (park sensibly, if you're arriving by car) - and then find the large green footpath sign to go under and around.
