Brenguļi ir vieta, kur Mežtakas 9. posma gājēji var atvilkt elpu un atgūt spēkus, kā agrāk tāli ceļinieki piestāja ceļmalas krogā, lai padzirdītu zirgus un atveldzētos paši. Uz vienu pusi Mežtaka aizved līdz Valmierai – Gaujas Nacionālā parka ziemeļu vārtiem, caur kuriem gājējs nokļūst dziļākajā un iespaidīgākajā upes ielejā Baltijas valstīs, kas apbur ar smilšakmens atsegumu atspulgiem Gaujas ūdenī. Savukārt, ejot Igaunijas virzienā, Mežtaka izved gājēju pa neskartāko Vidzemes mežu apvidu Ziemeļgaujas mežaini un Latvijai raksturīgām ainavām ar viensētām lauku un mežu ielokā. Tuvāk Igaunijas pierobežai gājēju sagaida neparastās Cirgaļu iekšzemes kāpas, izaicinošs kāpiens augšup un lejup pa Alūksnes augstienes pauguriem un elpu aizraujošās Veclaicenes ainavas. Norādītajās koordinātēs atradīsi avotu un zīmi ar uzrakstu "Kalītes avots". Lai noskaidrotu slēpņa atrašanās vietu, veic darbības un noskaidro X un Y vērtības :

Slēpnis ir daļa no slēpņu sērijas „MEŽTAKA”. Mežtaka ir Eiropas garās distances pārgājienu maršruta E11 daļa Baltijas valstīs, kas ved cauri Latvijas, Lietuvas un Igaunijas skaistākajiem mežiem un nacionālajiem parkiem. Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmā no Vecrīgas līdz Igaunijas robežai, kurš izstrādāts ar Eiropas Reģionālās attīstības fonda Centrālā Baltijas jūras reģiona pārrobežu sadarbības programmas 2014.–2020. gadam finansiālu atbalstu, izvietoti 45 slēpņi. Iesakām apvienot slēpņu meklēšanu ar pastaigu pa kādu no 15 ainaviskajiem Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmiem.

Brenguļi is where the hikers of the 9th section of the Forest Trail can catch their breath and regain their strength, just as in the past distant travelers stopped at a roadside inn to give their horses some water and relax. On one side, the Forest Trail leads to Valmiera — the northern gate of the Gauja National Park, through which the hiker enters the deepest and most spectacular river valley in the Baltic States, enchanting with reflections of sandstone outcrops in the River Gauja water. However, when walking towards Estonia, the Forest Trail leads the hiker through the purest forest area of Vidzeme, the forests in Ziemeļgauja (Northern Gauja) and landscapes typical of Latvia with a farmhouse surrounded
by fields and forests. Closer to the Estonian border, the unusual inland dunes of Cirgaļi, a challenging climb up and down the hills of the Alūksne highland and the breathtaking landscapes of Veclaicene await the hiker.

The geocache is part of the “MEŽTAKA” series of geocaches. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which runs through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In the northern part of the Forest Trail created with the financial support of the Transborder Cooperation Programme for 2014–2020 of the European Regional Development Fund for the Central Baltic Sea Region 45 geocaches have been deployed between the Old Riga and the Estonian border. We recommend combining the geocache search with a walk through one of the 15 landscape sections of the northern part of the Forest Trail.
