Welcome to Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens!
We are open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset. An entrance fee is only collected during the Rhododendron Festival; however, donations are always appreciated.
This is the first cache in the "Explore Hamilton Gardens (EHG)" series. We hope you enjoy! The EHG series will grow to include a number of caches that will guide you around the gardens. Maps of the gardens are available at the information kiosk near the parking coordinates.
Welcome to Fishing Hole Rock! You'll understand the name when you get here! Use the observation deck to enjoy some beautiful views of Lake Chatuge before finding the cache. When you are ready to hunt the cache, you may want to have a seat and think about where it might be (hint!)
You will follow trails to the cache site. You will go off-path a little at the very end to find the cache. It is a downhill hike to the cache site, and uphill back to the parking lot. We rated this as a "2 Terrain" because of the hill and the small bit of off-path searching at the very end. The cache is of "regular" size and has plenty of room for trade items!
