Woodhall Wander
A geocache trail of approx. 3 miles which follows the sign-marked public byways in the fields and forest around the village of Balsham. This includes a walk along the ancient Roman Road which passed through Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. This path is frequently posted along the trail. The caches have a range of difficulty levels. Parking coordinates are available in the waypoints.
This trail frequently cuts across fields, and includes several kissing gates and one stile. Given that livestock is frequently grazing in these fields, any geo-dogs must remain on leads at all times. There are also a number of barbed wire and electric fences so little geo-hands should be careful. The terrain difficulty rating refers to the length and stile-climbing necessary for the trail overall, not individual caches.
Also be careful as the trail can get very muddy after rain! Tweezers and a pen are essential, and long trousers and gloves should be brought to combat nettles and thorns, especially in the summer months.
