Once you enter the park, you will want to park near the boat ramp located near (old) campground # 1. This parking lot is very near the trail head of this .75 mile loop trail. It is currently inaccessible due to storm damaged trees. Follow the paved road until you get within 450ft of hide and then cut into the woods, to find an easier route and keep the terrain level real, relatively. The cache is a plastic jar under cover.
The park is located on Strom Thurmond Lake and has two 50 site campgrounds located along the shores of the lake.
There is a .75 mile hiking trail, a 1 mile hiking trail and a 10 mile bike trail also available to hikers. While in the park be sure to stop by the Pavillion for good park info and a great view of the lake with plenty of picnic tables provided.
Original Cache Contents: Incense, Glostick, Hippo Key Chain, Christmas Button, Playing Cards, Shoe Laces, Bouncy Ball, Bottle Opener, Candle, Mini Blue Glass Jar, Log Book with pen & pencil. Update 7/10/06 - Brer's on the move and is now located some distance from the original placement, in a similar fashion. Using the original container, added a new log book, a pen and trade items. Update 7/13/06 - This new hide is dedicated in loving memory of the cache owner, my good friend and caching buddy, blazingbunny. Update 8/18/06 - Verified the new position and modifying the waypoint coordinates today. The path in is not clearly marked and no longer leads to the cache position, so I'm raising the terrain difficulty level accordingly.
Update 2/7/2025 - Rabbit's on the move after the clear cut. There are no trails in the area at this time.
