The Beehive
This cache is not in a NSW National Park, but it does require you to visit one to find out it's location.
There are a few interesting mountains around the Urbenville area: Edinburgh Castle, Battery Hill, Crown Mountain - and this one. It's known as The Beehive, or South Obelisk, or Callawajune Mountain.
To find this cache you’ll need to climb to the top and find some relevant information up there to help you find the box down here.
The trek is as follows: Park at the Parking/Trailhead coordinates and make your way to Point Carmel, where you leave the vehicular track that circles the mountain and push upwards on a loosely defined trail. Not sure why it’s called Point Carmel, or who Carmel is. I imagine this is as far a poor Carmel could walk, so the spot was named after her.
Keep following the track, and you’ll pass some tall boulders - check out the small cavern at the foot of the rock. From here, the trail slowly evaporates to nothing. Best way to find your way is to load the GPX track into your GPS or a Phone App and follow that, but essentially you’re following the path of least resistance to Picnic Point. Beware you're never far from a long drop at the edge of the rocky ledge, but you dont need to be in a dangerous position like this for the hike up. Picnic Point is where the view are, and they’re amazing. You won’t get better views at the summit, which is accessed by following the GPX track or just going up until there is no more up.
Once up top, you’ll see a trig station - a couple of black discs, upon a pole, wedged in to a rock cairn. This is the listed coordinates of this cache.
On the timber pole not far from where it meets the rocky cairn you’ll see a two digit number attached (made of metal). Let the first number = A, and the second = B

Don’t underestimate this walk - it’s only 3.1km return but it’s steep and there’s not much of a trail to guide you. You should be comfortable walking in conditions like this and allow the appropriate time. It took me 5 hours all up, allowing enough time to explore the summit and Picnic Point.
The geocache is a regular sized box, with logbook, pencil and some swaps.
