High Voltage - Part of our St Maurice Wander set of caches to explore the beautifully historical part of Plymouth - Plympton St Maurice which is the oldest part of Plymouth and where the first settlement was back in 899 AD.
Once you have located the cache location, look a little further down the road and you'll see a house on the corner called 'The Old Castle Inn'.
This used to be a pub dating back to the 16th Century as it was the main route out of Plymouth to London passing the pub. The area also covered in water which sailing boats used to sail up the river (which is now St.Maurice) with trade cargo on their ships.
In May of 1786, the date on the annual Plympton Fare which many locals attended - know as St Maurice Day. A fight broke out on Castle Green, just below Plympton Castle, in which a man who was drinking in the Inn, opened the top window and leaned out to get a view of what what going on. He leant a little too far out of the window and unfortautnly fell to his death. Following this, the fare was stopped for 20 years.
This is a highly populated muggle area, the road can be busy so stealth will be required to retrieve the cache.
