Geocache Description:

The city of Winter Springs is growing so fast its inportant to remember that there was life before us. This Cache is about remembering Oscar and Elizabeth Bryant.

Oscar Bryant was born in 1880. He and his wife owned the 100 acre parcel that is now known as Parkstone until his death in 1928.

During their time of owning the plantation they farmed the land with celery, cabbage, lettuce tomatoes, and peppers they made a bit of profit.  Also on their land was a packing house, two story general store with living quarters upstairs, a 11 room estate home and half a dozen smaller houses for labores and overseers.

There was a freight stop just about where this cache sits. < I know this because when we moved here in 1979 the train still stopped here and there was still a field of cabbage>

This is just a little bit of the story about Oscar and Elizabeth.

Oscar is buried in Sanford.

I would like to express credit to Mr Jason Byrne for a artical he wrote on Oscar and Elizabeth and our local area.

FTF will find a prize :) have fun
