Geocache Description:

Placed particular plated package 'pon partial pit periphery proximate Peterson.

This cache is close to the Interstate 84 interchange near Peterson, Utah in Morgan County. There are some other caches in this county in the mountains (1, 2 and 3) and futher south along I-84. This one is much easier to get to.

Exit I-84 at the Peterson/Stoddard exit (#96) and drive west (toward Peterson). Just over the railroad overpass is a dirt road going right (north) that you should park on. The cache is between the road and the river, about 50 feet from where you park. There are man-made hills on two sides, hence the cache name.

I got six birds with a pretty good spread across the sky. My GPS read 16 ft accuracy. I'm pretty confident in the coordinates. The cache is a one gallon plastic container with a green lid. But the cache is well concealed where there are many hiding places. This is why I gave it a highish number.

The theme of this cache is items beginning with the letter "P". This applies to the items placed in the cache. Just one is "P" word is fine, but more is better. Pretty peculiar words are particularly welcome. Please keep the creativity kid-friendly (i.e.: G-rated).

The original cache contents are:

  • Package's plastic pouch containing:
    • Purple paper pad (logbook)
    • Particularly pointy pencil
    • Pink plastic pencil sharpener
  • Perky plastic pumpkin (TB)
  • Plastic pushbutton plaything (TB)
  • Pair of Plastic Pals (TB)
  • Plush pink pal rattle
  • Petite plush polar bear
  • Plush pumpkin patch
  • Plastic Pretty Pack (hair clips)
  • Presidential plane, parked
  • Purple paper paste (glue sticks)
  • Paradise Press paperback puzzlebook
  • Purple pad and Pooh stamps

The hill is only about 20 feet high and is covered with grass. It is a little slippery when wet. But I made it up the hill on a day when there was a little snow on the ground. This hill will be more difficult to do once covered in snow. (But then, you can follow the tracks right to the cache.) If you have a problem getting back up the hill, go further north where the hill isn't so high. If anyone thinks that this hill should be rated higher, try Bat Cave over old 84 first.
