DI FRONTE A TE IL SUPRAMONTE...
Alla tua sinistra l'Orientale sarda si inerpica verso il Passo Silana: è da qui che ha inizio il Supramonte di Urzulei, con i suoi canyon, le sue grotte e i suoi boschi, nascosti ai tuoi occhi dalle falesic di Costa 'e Silana. A dominare la scena d'insieme è la gola Hi di Gorropu: selvaggia e sublime. Alle spalle e a fianco di Gorropu si estende il Supramonto di Orgosolo, con le sue leccete primarie, le suc doline e i suoi bianchi nuraghi. A vista anche una porzione del tacco calcarco di monte Novu Santu lubanne. Sullo sfondo un lembo del Gennargentu. Dopo Gorropu, sulla destra, il Supramonto di Dorgali. Prima le pareti di Monte Oddeu interrotte da lecala 'e Surtana, poi il tratto di Sas Tracs e Monte Tundu, di fronte alla fertile vallata di Oddocne. Al orizzontc, a sovrastare tutto il Supramonte, si erge il bianco e imponente Monte Corrasi di Oliena. Quella che hai di fronte è l'area più selvaggia della Sardegna. Forse erano questi i cosiddetti Insani montes (monti pazzi, che fanno impazzire) citati da diversi autori latini per cesere i luoghi più ostili all'invasione militare dell'imperialismo romano.

To your left side the castern Sardinian road climbs towards the Silana pass: here begins the Supra-monte arca of Urzulei, with its canyons, its caves and its forest, hidden from eyes by the Costa 'e Silana cliffs. The Gorropu gorge dominates the overall scene: wild and sublime. The Supramonte area of Orgosolo extends behind and beside Gorropu, with its holm oak forest and its white nuraghi, from here a portion of the Novu Santu Jubanne mountain can be scen. A strip of the Gennargentu mountain is in the background. To the right side, beyond Gorropu, there is the Supramonte area of Dorgali. First you sec the mountains walls of Monte Oddeu interrupted by Scala Surtana, then the reddish Monte T undu wich overlooks the fertile Valley of Oddoene. On the horizon stands Monto Corrasi, the white and majestic mountain of Oliena. What you are admiring here is the wildest arca oh Sardinia. These are probably the so called Insani Monte (insane mountaine) mentioned by various Latin authors for being the most hostile places on the military invasion of the roman imperialism.

Zu Ihrer Linken steigt der sardische Orientale zum Silana-Pass an: Hier beginnt der Supramonte von Urzulei mit seinen Schluchten, Höhlen und Wäldern, die von den felsigen Klippen der Costa Silana. Dominierend ist die Gorropu-Schlucht: wild und erhaben. Dahinter und seitlich von Gorropu erstreckt sich der Supramonto di Orgosolo mit seinen primären Steineichenwäldern, den Dolinen und den weißen Nuraghen. Ebenfalls zu sehen ist ein Teil des Kalkabsatzes des Monte Novu Santu lubanne. Im Hintergrund ein Stück des Gennargentu. Nach Gorropu, auf der rechten Seite, der Supramonto di Dorgali. Zunächst die Wände des Monte Oddeu von Lecala 'e Surtana unterbrochen, dann die Strecke von Sas Tracs und Monte Tundu, mit Blick auf das fruchtbare Tal von Oddocne. Am Horizont, überragt die gesamte Supramonte, ist die imposante weiße Monte Corrasi von Oliena. Vor Ihnen liegt die wildeste Gegend Sardiniens. Vielleicht handelt es sich hier um die so genannten Insani montes (verrückte Berge, die einen in den Wahnsinn treiben), die von verschiedenen lateinischen Autoren als die Orte genannt wurden, die der militärischen Invasion des römischen Imperialismus am stärksten entgegenstanden.
