On the plaza at the listed coordinates is a large ship's anchor, near the Red Tower (Kizil Kule). There I would like to meet other geocachers. I will bring travel bugs and geocoins for discovery and I will possibly have some travel bugs to exchange. I will be wearing my maroon "Traveling Aggies" baseball cap or a maroon shirt with the ATM logo. (Originally an Agriculture and Mechanical college in 1876, the students and alumni are called "Aggies" - related to Agriculture, or "Ag," studies. The "Traveling Aggies" is the alumni travel group from Texas A & M University.)
My wife and I plan to start the day's sightseeing and geocaching from this point, so if you would like to meet around 9 or 10 a.m. to hike with us, send me a message or email through the site. We plan to hike up to the castle and then visit the two earthcaches at the Damlatas Cave and Cleopatra Beach.
(As an aside, today's date is a palindrome: 23-05-23. If we use the numbers for letters of the alphabet, it spells "WEW." Not really a word, but what can you do? Next year will be better on 24 September, 2024. 24-09-24 spells "XIX", which is 19 in Roman numerals. I'll have to plan an event for that day...)
