Take a hike out on the 5 oaks trail out at Slate Run Metro Park. This trail is about 1.5 miles in a loop. The northern bobwhite quail are a species that was introduced to this area of the park and can sometimes be seen wandering through these fields. The park’s grasslands and forest edges were altered to meet habitat requirements in the hope to raise the population in the area.
