The National Park Service has finished it Hawk Hill Improvement Project
The area around this Virtual cache has been changed, but at the posted coordinates you will still find a 8" steel pipe extending 6" out of the ground. The end has been sealed with concrete and there is one word and a date inscribed and barely legible. Formerly this was the validation criteria needed to log this cache, but the word and date have become so illegible that its almost impossible to determine.
Logging requirements: Take a picture of yourself or of something with your caching name on it in front of the Hawk Hill Raptor Migration sign.
Bonus Image: If the weather is clear, feel free to include a picture with you and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
Un-verified 'Found It' Logs will be deleted.
I've always enjoyed my visits to these hills on the north side of the Golden Gate. I lived in the Bay Area for over 10 years and have been here several times. Some times you have an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city behind it. Other times a layer of clouds may hide some or all of it. Either way, its still an amazing place to visit.
There are two good places to park and enjoy some great views from the car. (See both Parking Waypoints for locations.) I hope you enjoy your time out here no matter the weather.
