Gramota:
Suonikylän Kolttasaamelaisten arkisto, joka todistaa kolttasaamelaisyhteisön oikeudet kalastus- ja poronhoitoalueisiin. Asiakirjat ovat Venäjän keisarin ja keisarillisen hallituksen antamia virallisia määräyksiä.
Vuosisatoja säilynyt arkisto koostuu asiakirjoista, jotka on liitetty yhteen luista valmistetulla liimalla,asiakirja on n. 9 metriä pitkä. Kirjakääröä pidettiin puisen kotelon sisällä ja sitä säilytettiin salaisessa paikassa. Säilytyspaikan tunsi vain kolme uskottua miestä, jotka kaikki olivat peräisin eri perheistä. Vanhin asiakirja on vuodelta 1601 ja uusin vuodelta 1775.
Kolttasaamelaisväestö evakuoitiin toisen maailmansodan aikaan Petsamosta ja Gramotan uskottiin kadonneen sodan melskeissä. Asiakirjat säilytyskoteloineen olivat kuitenkin päätyneet Helsinkiin kansallisarkistoon, mistä ne palautettiin Kolttasaamelaisyhteisölle v. 2012. Muutamaa vuotta myöhemmin Gramota valittiin UNESCO:n maailmanmuistilistalle. Asiakirjakääröä säilytetään Saamelaisarkistossa Sajoksessa ja puinen säilytysrasia on esillä Siidassa.

Gramota
The Skolt Sámi archive of Suonikylä, which confirmed the rights of the Skolt Sámi community to fishing and reindeer herding areas. The documents are official edicts issued by the Russian Emperor and the Imperial Government.
The archive, which has survived for centuries, consists of documents connected with glue made of bones, eventually forming a nine meters long scroll. The scroll was kept inside a wooden trunk and stored in a secret place. The place of Gramota was known only by three trustees, who all came from different families. The oldest document dates from 1601 and the latest from 1775.
The Skolt Sami population was evacuated from Petsamo during the Second World War, and Gramota was believed to have disappeared in the turmoil of the war. However, the documents had ended up in the National Archives in Helsinki, until it was returned to the Skolt Sámi community in 2012. A few years later, Gramota was selected for Unesco’s memory of the world list. The document scroll is preserved in the Sámi Archives in Sajos and the wooden trunk is in the Siida.
