Please come and help to clean up trash at the Barge Canal Recreational Access in West Sacramento from 10-11am on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Bags will be provided, but please bring your picker upper, gloves, sunscreen, hat, sturdy shoes, bucket, etc. There is a little under a half mile of paved trail and if venturing west past the Palamidessi Bridge (Industrial/Lake Washington Blvd) near the shipping port, the trail turns to gravel. Quite a bit of trash was observed under this bridge on April 20 when I scouted the area, but there is no legal parking near it. Non-motorized bikes are welcome on the trail. If so inclined, you can bring non-motorized watercraft and help collect trash from the water. The hand-poratage boat ramp is indicated as an additional waypoint.
